Programs, copybooks, record layouts, batch jobs and interfaces are reviewed together so the conversion preserves the behavior your business depends on.
RPG II & RPG III conversion
We assess RPG2 and RPG3 source, file definitions, indicators, calculation logic and job dependencies, including screens and reports where they are part of the agreed scope.
Visual Basic conversion
We assess VB6 and VB.NET applications, including forms, modules, class modules, business rules and data access. COM, ActiveX and third-party dependencies are reviewed before agreeing how the existing behavior will be recreated in GeneXus.
dBASE, Clipper & FoxPro
We assess dBASE, Clipper, FoxPro and Visual FoxPro business applications, including program logic, DBF tables, memo files, indexes, forms and reports. Data relationships, encodings and existing calculations are mapped and validated for the target application and database.
Microsoft Access & VBA
We assess Access databases, queries, forms, reports, macros and VBA modules, including linked tables and integrations. The agreed workflows and data can be moved into a GeneXus application without assuming that desktop controls transfer unchanged.
Other legacy business systems
PowerBuilder, Delphi / Object Pascal, classic ASP and other custom business applications can be assessed for migration. We review the available source, business rules, database logic, interfaces and dependencies before confirming feasibility, deliverables and fixed pricing.

We offer fixed-cost conversion services, with a fixed-price contract for the agreed direct-conversion scope.
After reviewing your source and dependencies, we agree the conversion scope, target platform, data migration, acceptance tests, deliverables and price. The direct-conversion project preserves the agreed existing functionality.
Enhancements are added after the conversion has been completed and accepted. New features, redesigned processes and additional integrations are separately scoped and priced, keeping them distinct from the fixed-price conversion.
The agreement identifies any exclusions and third-party software, platform or hosting costs before work begins.

- Source and project files for your COBOL, RPG, Visual Basic, dBASE / xBase, Access, PowerBuilder, Delphi or classic ASP application, plus called programs, batch jobs and third-party components. Include forms, reports, modules and resources, with any COM or ActiveX dependencies and required licenses.
- Data & file definitions
- Database schemas, DDS physical and logical files, DBF tables with their memo and index files, Access table definitions, record layouts, keys and relationships. Include character encodings, packed-decimal formats and precision requirements.
- Screens, reports & interfaces
- Display and printer files, screen examples, sample reports, file exchanges and interface specifications for connected systems.
- Business rules & expected results
- Documented rules, representative anonymized data, test cases, expected outputs and reconciliation totals. Include rounding, date handling and exception scenarios.

Complete acceptance, agree the cutover and rollback plan, and hand over the deliverables defined in the contract.
Your agreed deliverables can include the GeneXus Knowledge Base, generated application, data mappings and migration scripts, validation evidence and deployment documentation. Once conversion is accepted, we plan enhancements with you.
Migration questions
Is this application migration or data migration?
Both can be included. We review the programs and their business rules as well as the data they use. The contract identifies the application components and datasets included in your conversion.
Will you change how our business works?
The direct-conversion scope preserves agreed existing behavior. Changes to business processes and new functionality are handled afterward as separately approved enhancements.
Can our legacy system become a phone or tablet application?
Yes. We can bring its business capabilities to iOS and Android through GeneXus. The mobile interface and any device-specific features are assessed and scoped explicitly; they are not implied by simply translating the old source code.
What if our source or documentation is incomplete?
We identify missing components and their impact during assessment. Any discovery or reconstruction needed is agreed before committing to the direct-conversion scope and price.
Can you migrate Visual Basic applications?
Yes. We assess both classic Visual Basic (VB6) and VB.NET applications for conversion into GeneXus. The review establishes how forms, business rules, data access and dependencies map to the agreed C# / .NET or Java target. Replacement controls, unsupported libraries and additional mobile capabilities are explicitly scoped before work starts.
How is legacy functionality moved into GeneXus?
We analyze the existing source, data and business rules, then model the agreed functionality in GeneXus. This is an assessed conversion service, not a claim that GeneXus automatically imports every legacy language. Screens, reports and unsupported dependencies may need to be recreated. Source availability, third-party licenses and platform-specific features determine the scope.
